East Gallatin River Nutrient Monitoring Project (2014-2017)
The purpose of this project, done in cooperation with the City of Bozeman, is to support the development of a preliminary water quality model for the East Gallatin River to assess long-term water quality associated with nutrient levels in the river for watershed health.  Monitoring activities include collection of water samples for nutrients and pesticides, in-stream algae, diatoms and aquatic insects, and river flow measurements. The GLWQD conducted monitoring at various locations on the river during the summers of 2014 through 2017.  HDR of Missoula is currently populating the model and analyzing results.
